Lots of pictures/updates!

I have lots of great pictures to share, so here goes:
Landon is absolutely obsessed with the dogs! He tries to hug them all the time. Carter really doesn't care for Landon so he just prefers to stay far away, but Sammie doesn't seem to mind his company. She just sits there and lets him pull, tug, and hug away! I thought this picture was so cute of the two of them.
Landon's official birthday was last Thursday the 18th. We celebrated by going to Chuck E. Cheese for dinner. We had a great time! Landon loved all the little rides and even played a few of the games. So did Mommy and Daddy!

This is so great! We had two tokens left at the end of the night so we thought we'd try out this game where you pull a lever (like a slot machine) and push a button and the wheel spins and lands on a prize. Most of the prizes are 5 tickets. There is a 100 ticket prize and a "super bonus" prize of 150 tickets. The first token we put in Landon pressed the button and got 5 tickets. One last token. Landon pushed the button and SURPRISE...super bonus 150 tickets!!! The tickets just kept shooting out for what seemed like forever. It was so fun to watch his reaction as the tickets shot out of the machine.

I just had to share this picture that I took over the weekend of Landon and Daddy riding their car and truck. Daddy looked quite silly on his car. Pretty soon it became a game of bumper cars and Landon thought that was just hilarious! (Of course there is hockey on in the background...imagine that!!!)

Landon has a big noggin...there's no denying that. We are having trouble lately finding clothes that fit over his head but are the right size for his body. This was my attempt at taking his shirt off one night last weekend!

The stairs in our house have become one of Landon's favorite pasttimes. We've had to move our one baby gate from place to place to keep the little guy safe. He did have one tumble last week down a few stairs, but scared himself more than anything else. Time for more baby gates!

Finally, Landon had his one year well-child visit today and all I can say is that is was a crazy day! Long story, but at the end of the day he deserved a treat! I thought it was only appropriate that he get an ice cream sandwich for dessert...all to himself!
Num num, as he would say!

That's all, until next Thursday! The big ultrasound day!
Hopefully we'll have some pics to share!

Full of Good News!

Good news #1: Ashley and Loren are engaged!!! It's about time! Loren and Jackson woke up Ashley Valentine's Day morning with Jackson wearing a t-shirt that said "Will you Marry Me?" and they gave her the ring. We are so excited to plan another Hegle wedding!
Good news #2: Darren got a new job! He was offered a new job at a firm in St. Louis Park (not sure the name... Brown and something or other)!!! We are super excited for him to make the change and the little bit shorter commute each day. Darren is ecstatic and we went out last night to celebrate!
Good news #3: I had my 16 week dr. appt. yesterday (I'll actually be 18 weeks on Friday, but this appt. was delayed due to the weather last week.) Baby is doing great with a hearbeat in the 150's. I'm measuring right on track and have only gained one pound so far! We are anxiously waiting for the big ultrasound on March 4th to find out if we need to buy pink or more blue.

Our Little Monkey's Party

On Saturday we celebrated Landon's 1st birthday! It was quite a day! We are so lucky to still have a big room in our house that is unfurnished and undecorated to use for the party. It worked out perfectly! We had 23 guests total and had a great time!
Here's a picture of our little family before the craziness began...all four of us!

The monkey cake...it turned out exactly like I wanted it to...four hours later! I made a little version of the cake for Landon's smash cake as well. (Thank you Martha Stewart!)

One of the decorations I made was a sampling of pictures from Landon's first year. I included a picture of him at each month. Landon had more fun looking at it all weekend!

I ordered Landon a shirt from Lil Cubby on etsy.com. It was personalized with his name on the back as well. The birthday hats I made with extra paper and ribbon. Landon was the only one that actually wore one though. At least I got a picture of them!

The sign I made for the door:

The banner I made. I've collected ideas from many of the vendors on etsy.com and created my own version. It was easy to do with my Cricut machine and scrapbook supplies. Not so easy to hang up though.

The paper goods:

Landon with his birthday boy hat, shirt, and high chair bunting that I made as well:

Landon didn't quite know what to do with his cake right away. I tried to show him how to blow out the candle, but I ended up blowing it out for him. It took him awhile to get the idea that he could dig right in to the cake, but after he got the hang of it he had a blast, made quite a mess, and was quite the entertainment.

Landon feeding Daddy some of the chocolate frosting:

The little monkey after finishing up with the cake...right before he took a mid-day much-needed bath:

The bath water looked pretty gross with chocolate floating everywhere. It took two tubfuls of water to get Landon clean!

After his bath, we had fun opening Landon's birthday presents. He is one spoiled little man. Lots of summer clothes, lots of toys, and lots of necessities. Thank you everyone for the wonderful gifts!!!

Having fun opening presents:

Trying out one of his new toys:

It was a GREAT day and we are already looking forward to his next birthday party! We get to celebrate again on Thursday on his real birthday! I can't believe our little man is already a year old!

Ramblings

A few updates since I have last written...
~We are getting ready for Landon's 1st birthday party, coming up on Feb. 13th! So much to do, so little time. His real birthday is Thursday the 18th, but we will celebrate with family a little early. I am making all the decorations so I have been very busy!
~Baby news: My sister Jess found out that she is expecting a baby BOY! We are so excited to have another nephew. My aunt Trisha found out that she is expecting a baby GIRL! They are thrilled as a girl is what they were hoping for. These two babes will be born within weeks of each other in late-May/early-June. As far as our baby news, I will be 16 weeks along on Friday. I feel like I am starting to feel a little better. If you would have asked me on Saturday, I would have told you that I was over the hump and all done with the nausea. Then Sunday rolled around and I proved myself wrong, totally wrong! Ughhh...I can't wait to feel like a normal human being again! On a brighter note, I started to feel some teeny tiny movements over the weekend. Only when I am laying in bed and feeling for them! Now that Jess and Trisha found out what they are having, I am soooooo anxious for our ultrasound coming up on March 4th. I can't wait to find out if Landon will have a little brother or sister. My guess...a BOY!
~Landon update: Man, we can't take our eyes off this little mischief maker for two seconds. He is into EVERYTHING!!! No interest in toys, just phones, remotes, drawers, shelves, anything he can crawl up on and get into. He is very close to walking now and loves to walk around with his push train and jam to the music. Speaking of music, he LOVES to dance and has figured out how to play music on my phone. It's the funniest thing to watch. He has 6 teeth now and eating pretty much anything he can get his hands on. His new personal favorite: sharing an ice cream sandwich with Mommy! Going to bed at night has been better this past week (knock on wood!) and he's full of new words and sounds. We can't keep him quiet, that's for sure! His new favorite word is num num!
~Darren has been spending lots of his free time reffing hockey games. The season is starting to wind down soon and he is very excited to have been selected to ref the Bantam A State Tournament! A huge privilege!
That's all for now! We are counting down the days until Spring!
