Twins and Flower Beds

Just a few random updates:
Landon and Darren got to go to a Twins game the weekend I hosted Trisha's shower. Look at my two favorite men all set to head out to the game:

Darren and I worked very hard to bring back to life a flower bed that had been put in our back yard right next to the patio. The previous owners had let it get grown over with grass and weeds, plastic was coming up, and it was quite the sight for sore eyes. Fast forward to now...a fresh new flower bed with new soil, new pavers, and new flowers (not shown in the picture). More pictures to come soon of the finished product!

This is what Landon was doing as Darren and I worked hard on the flower bed. Just chillin' with his feet up! What a character we have!

Trisha's Baby Shower

Last Sunday, April 18th, Trisha's four nieces (me, Jess, Ashley, and Lisa) threw her a baby shower. This is the second party I've hosted at my house and the big open room worked out perfectly for the occasion. It was a great day and everything went very smoothly!
We just had to get a picture of the preggo bellies before all the babes start arriving. Trisha is due on June 1st, followed by Jess on June 8th (c-section scheduled for June 3rd), and me on July 23rd. Bring on the new babies for the Hegle Family!!!

Some of the decorations I made for the shower:

(I'm so happy to finally have this room painted...I was very tired of the white dirty walls! These walls were all painted Wednesday through Friday of last week. Yes, when my mom got wind that I had started doing some painting, she recruited the help of Kim and they got to work. I got home from work on Wednesday to a half-painted house. It looks so nice and much more like a home!)

Trisha with all of her wonderful gifts!

I absolutely LOVE this diaper bag she received from a family friend! I loved it so much that I'm in the process of hopefully getting one made for myself! It's so roomy and looks more like a purse...exactly what I've been looking for!

We are anxiously waiting for Baby Girl Larson to arrive! It's exciting to be welcoming a new first cousin to the family!

Our Easter Weekend

Last Saturday Darren and I took Landon to the Buffalo Easter Carnival. It was sponsored by Little Buffalo Preschool and held at the Civic Center. There was food, games, and the Easter Bunny. We didn't want to wait around for the Easter Egg Hunt since we figured Landon wouldn't really know what to do this year...maybe next year buddy!

The highlight of the Carnival for Landon was running around like a crazy man! He is sure enjoying being mobile now that he can walk. He doesn't want to stop...ever! It's been a lot of work for Mommy and Daddy to chase him around everywhere we go.

On Easter Sunday, Landon got to search for his Easter basket first thing in the morning. He found it hidden between the couch and the end table. The Easter Bunny was really good to him this year. Cars, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, Gerber treats, a pinwheel, a new ball, and movies. He must've been really good this year!

After church we went to Triple R in Kimball for the Easter Brunch Buffet. Landon loved the Easter Bunny! He couldn't get enough of him. In fact, he loved him so much that when he left Landon cried. He jumped right into his arms and wanted to be held by him. It was very cute to say the least!

Landon's First Haircut

It was beyond time for Landon to get his first haircut...don't you think?

So, we made an appointment with Tracy at Diva's in Annandale on Thursday Kid's Night. Jackson and Ashley came with. Jackson went first so that Landon could watch. Landon just ended up running all around the salon, rather than watching Jackson get his haircut!
Here we are all set for the haircut. Landon sat in my lap so we both needed to wear an apron. He didn't so much like having his hands and arms covered up.
Things started off well, but after a few minutes we needed some intervention. Auntie Ashley came to the rescue with a blue sucker!

Then the haircut resumed and he did just fine.

One blue mouth later, we were all done and ready to go! Landon looks like such a big boy with his new haircut! What happened to our little baby boy???

The boys showing off their new haircuts! So handsome!

Cleaning Windows!

Spring Break Day #1: Cleaning Windows
What a big helper Landon was yesterday as I cleaned every window and screen in the house! That includes 18 screens and 26 panes of glass! The screens I don't think have EVER been cleaned and it's been bugging me since we moved into the house last September. I told myself that I would take them all out and clean them the first nice day I had off from work.

We DID have a little fun yesterday though...we met Auntie Jess and Lilly and Auntie Ashley and Jackson for lunch at Triple R to visit Grandma Rita. The kids were all really good! Then we came home and went for a walk and played with the Grossman kids. Landon must've been VERY tired out from the day because he went to bed so good last night and I had to wake him up this morning at 8:15!
Our plans for today? I've already placed an order for over 550 pictures on Snapfish and when Landon wakes up from his nap we are off to Dassel to see Jess and Lilly, Desiree and Elsa, and maybe Carissa and Jill! Should be another fun-filled day!

A Princess on the Way!

A blurry profile...with a little hand waving above her head

Her little foot

I think we may have a gymnast on our hands! Head down, butt in the air, and skinny little legs

Ok, so I'm a little more rested and have slowly realized that the ultrasound technician was not playing a cruel joke on me...IT'S A GIRL!!! I'm so thrilled to have a princess and not be outnumbered in the house anymore! Yes, probably jumping the gun a little bit, but I already ordered bedding for her room. I had it picked out "in case" it was a girl ahead of time. So, back to Thursday...

She is a feisty one and the ultrasound tech called her a little kickboxer because she kept kicking at the doppler. She is right on track for growth weighing in at 12 oz. My due date will stay the same this time (July 23rd). We got to see awesome views of her little spine...she really wanted to show that off. She didn't really want to give us a very good profile shot though. We got a great picture of her in the uncomfortable position she is in. She's head down with her butt straight up in the air and curled in a ball. She kept kneeing herself in the head! Poor little thing will probably have bruises on her forehead when she's born! Her heartrate was at 145 and all her body parts looked great. Such a relief to hear that all is well and she looks healthy!

Oh, and by the way...her nickname...THUMBELINA! I don't know where Darren comes up with these names, but at least it's better than the one poor Landon had!

It's a...

little SISTER for Landon!!! I am still in shock right now as I write this. Darren was concerned that I didn't seem excited when we found out, but I am! I was just expecting the ultrasound technician to say, "Oops, I was wrong...there's the little boy parts!" I just had to go to the mall afterwards and buy something pink. Talk about overwhelming! There's SO MANY girl clothes in every store, much more than the boy section. Pictures to come tomorrow...I'm so tired!
